Boyceville Middle School Earns Regional Runner Up Team Trophy

BOYCEVILLE – The Boyceville Middle School Science Olympiad team competed at the regional tournament at home this past weekend, finishing as the regional runner-up team out of twelve schools.  Boyceville Middle School medal winners were as follows:

Gold medals were earned by the following:

  • Air Trajectory – Eighth grader Easton Lange and seventh grader Logan Monfort
  • Helicopters – Eighth graders Aubrie Humpal and Jillian Boesl
  • Metric Mastery – Ninth graders Walter Schaff and Eli Weber
  • Mission Possible – Lange and Logan Monfort
  • Robo Cross – Logan Monfort and seventh grader Aiden Feeney
  • Towers – Lange and eighth grader Clayton Score
  • Wind Power – Schaff and Weber
  • Air Trajectory – Ninth graders Arnold Sudbrink and Tim Jackson (JV)
  • Towers – Eighth grader Robert Swenby and sixth grader Clyde Score (JV)

Silver medals were earned by the following:

  • Crime Busters – Eighth graders Aren Halama and Sara Hafermann
  • Entomology – Schaff and Weber
  • Experimental Design – Schaff, Weber, and Clayton Score
  • Horticulture – Aubrie Humpal and Boesl
  • Reach for the Stars – Halama and Hafermann
  • Helicopters – Swenby and Clyde Score (JV)
  • Wind Power – Seventh grader Samantha Bauer and sixth grader Stella Heifner (JV)

Bronze medals were earned by the following:

  • Codebusters – Clayton Score, Lange, and Schaff
  • Ecology – Logan Monfort and sixth grader Caleb Mrdutt
  • Optics – Schaff and Weber
  • Picture This – Clayton Score, Lange, and Boesl
  • Helicopters – Ninth grader Ivan Farrell and eighth grader Payton Lee (JV)
  • Entomology – Swenby and Clyde Score (JV)
  • Robo Cross – Seventh graders Owen Lunderville and Noah Monfort (JV)
  • Towers – Heifner and sixth grader Harper Humpal (JV)

Fourth place medals were earned by the following:

  • Anatomy & Physiology – Halama and Boesl
  • Forestry – Mrdutt and Boesl
  • Fossils – Aubrie Humpal and Hafermann
  • Geocaching – Clayton Score and Lange
  • Microbe Mission – Mrdutt and eighth grader Serenity Miller
  • Road Scholar – Feeney and Logan montfort
  • Scrambler – Clayton Score and Lange
  • Horticulture – Farrell and Lee (JV)

“I am really proud of all of our middle school students.” said Boyceville head coach Andy Hamm.  “We have a really challenging regional tournament, and our kids have worked really hard this year to do their best.  l look forward to the students continuing to work hard to prepare for the state tournament in April.”

The state tournament is Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, 2025 at UW-Stout in Menomonie.  Boyceville Science Olympiad is coached by Andy Hamm, Russ Riehbrandt, and Tony Pelikan.
