Boyceville Science Olympiad Finishes Well in Medford

MEDFORD – The Boyceville Science Olympiad program placed well at the Medford Invitational this past Saturday, with the middle school team winning the tournament and the high school team placing third among all teams.  Boyceville medal winners were as follows:

Gold medals were earned by the following:

  • Juniors William Engel and Jon Madison in Electric Vehicle
  • Senior Delaney Olson and juniors Chelsi Holden and Zoey Hellendrung in Experimental Design
  • Senior Emily Fetzer and Olson in both Forensics and Horticulture
  • Juniors Karen Schaff and Loralie West in Geocaching
  • Sophomores Brady Rasmussen and Kade Phillips in Robot Tour
  • Senior Abigail Bauer and Hellendrung in Wind Power
  • Eighth graders Aubrie Humpal and Sara Hafermann in Dynamic Planet
  • Aubrie Humpal and eighth grader Jillian Boesl in both Helicopters and Horticulture
  • Ninth graders Eli Weber and Walter Schaff in Metric Mastery, Optics, and Wind Power

“Our students did a great job in Medford this year” said head coach Andy Hamm.  “Our students have been working hard and we had a great day despite missing some kids due to illness.  Its been a challenging few weeks with the end of the semester and I am really proud of the hard work our students have put in to keep getting better every week.”

Boyceville HS will next be in action at the UWRF Invitational on January 25th while the MS team will be next in action at the regional tournament at home on Saturday February 8th.  Boyceville Science Olympiad is coached by Andy Hamm, Russ Riehbrandt, and Tony Pelikan.
